RYE Band Concert a Huge Success!
On Friday, Feb. 19, Rye band performed for our community in support of the Music Department’s trip to Washington DC.  Almost $900 of their profit went for DC scholarships.  The RCS Foundation and our music parents were a big help running concessions, taking up tickets and selling Chick Filet dinners to raise additional funds.  We greatly appreciate everyone’s effort during this wonderful evening.  Special thanks to Ms. Sorrells who arranged for the group to come to Ridgeview!

Orchestra Pre-Festival Concert
Our Orchestra Pre-Festival Concert is for RCS Honor Orchestra only and it takes place at Riverwood H.S. Auditorium at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday Feb.11th.   The purpose of this performance is to prepare the Honor Orchestra students for their Large Group Performance Evaluation which will take place on March 2nd at Alpharetta H.S.   We perform at Riverwood so that students will get used to performing on stage in a concert hall.  We will have a mock judge present to critique our performance.
All parents, faculty and staff are invited.
Please remember that our Performance Evaluation is an annual event,  much like an Olympic sports competition but for   music students.  It is exciting but also quite demanding.

Chorus Cluster Concert Feb. 9, 2010
The Chorus Cluster Concert will be held on Tuesday, February 9, at 4:30 PM at Riverwood High School.  All the choruses from schools in our cluster will perform for each other—Lake Forest, Heards Ferry, High Point, Ridgeview, and Riverwood.  Every chorus will sing two or three songs in a variety of styles.  All chorus students of different ages love hearing each other perform!  Ridgeview students are being driven to Riverwood by parents.  Thanks so much to our chorus parents for providing transportation to the high school!   Parents, family, and friends are invited to the concert, which will end at 5:30 PM.  All Ridgeview chorus students should be picked up from the high school to go home by 5:30 PM that afternoon.  Come and hear the wonderful choral students in our cluster—elementary through high school—sing on Tuesday, Feb. 9!
